9-12 Months Before

Book Your Bridal Beauty Team

If you're getting married during peak wedding season, don't wait. Bridal dates book quickly, especially Saturdays. Now is also the perfect time to think beyond your wedding hairstyle. Who will help you achieve your healthiest hair? Who will help your skin glow under professional makeup?

Creating your beauty plan early gives you plenty of time to enjoy the process instead of feeling rushed.

Consider Hair Extensions

Dreaming of Pinterest-worthy bridal hair?

Extensions aren't just for length. They create fullness, hold curls beautifully, and make many bridal styles look even more romantic.

Scheduling your consultation early allows time for color matching, installation, maintenance appointments, and getting comfortable wearing them before the wedding.

6 Months Before

Start Investing In Your Skin

This is probably the step brides underestimate the most.

Your stylist will help customize a look that compliments your dress, face shape, and personal style, not just recreate the pinterest photo.

Continue Your Skincare Plan

Consistency is what creates results.

By now, your esthetician has learned how your skin responds and can continue building toward your healthiest complexion.

2-4 Weeks Before

Hair Color Appointment

Most brides schedule their final color appointment about 1-3 weeks before the wedding. Your stylist will recommend the best timing based on your service and desired look. This isn't the time for a dramatic change. Instead, it's about refining and refreshing the color you've been perfecting throughout your engagement.

Facial

One of the best things you can do before your wedding is schedule a professional facial.

Hydrated, healthy skin allows makeup to apply more smoothly, last longer, and create that soft, luminous finish every bride wants.

Chemical Peel

If chemical peels are part of your skincare plan, they'll be strategically scheduled well before your wedding so your skin has plenty of time to recover and reveal its healthiest glow. This is why starting your skincare journey early is so important.

1 Week Before

Brow Shaping

Well-shaped brows frame your face and make a noticeable difference in photos. Scheduling your brow appointment about a week before your wedding gives any temporary redness time to disappear, leaving you with perfectly sculpted brows.

Lash Appointment

A lash lift and tint is usually done one week before the wedding. This is the ideal time to have your appointment so your lashes look fresh for wedding day.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a bridal favorite for a reason.

By removing dead skin cells and fine facial hair, it creates an incredibly smooth canvas for makeup application. Many brides notice their makeup applies more evenly and photographs beautifully after dermaplaning.

2 Days Before

Spray Tan

We typically recommend having your spray tan done two days prior to the wedding. This allows the color to fully develop while giving you time for your first rinse before the big day. The goal is a healthy, sun-kissed glow, not overly dark.

The Day Before

Blowout Party.

One of the most underrated things for a bridal party is a blowout party the day before.

What is a Blowout Party?

At Storybook Salon, we offer blowout parties to our bridal parties the day before the wedding. Each service will be offered at a 10% discount if the bridal party is also getting hair services done with us the next day.

During the blowout party, each member of the wedding who is getting their hair services done with Storybook the next day will come in together and have their hair professionally shampooed, a scalp massage, and then blown out and styled.

Why Book It?

The blowout party allows us to do two things:

1. Prep your hair for the following day: "Dirty Hair is Best" is a MYTH. We want your hair clean on wedding day! So why not allow us to clean it professionally? We will double cleanse, once with a clarifying shampoo and the second time with a shampoo that makes sense for your hair type. Next, we condition and perform a scalp massage. The real magic in terms of preparation, happens when we bring you back to the chair. We select product that will hold volume, maintain the cleanliness of your hair, smooth flyaways, control frizz, and prep your hair perfectly for the next day.

2. Get you and your bridal party rehearsal ready: Once you've had your hair blown out and styled by our team, no need to do it yourself for the rehearsal dinner! It's already done. One thing off your list and the list of everyone in your bridal party. Additionally, no one will need to wash their hair that night or on the wedding morning!

The Night Before

Drink plenty of water. Follow your stylist's instructions about washing your hair. Lay out your veil, accessories, jewelry, and getting-ready outfit. Steam the dresses the night before!

Then... realx. You've done the planning. Tomorrow is your day.
