If you're engaged, the biggest and happiest day of your life is almost here! But without proper planning, the morning of getting ready can really bring down the mood. Having done countless wedding styles on-site at venues, we've seen a lot go wrong on the morning that everything should be going right. Don't worry -- none of it has resulted in an "I don't" at the alter, but we're here to help plan your dreamiest, most peaceful wedding morning. While your groom spends his morning golfing or lying around (our eyes definitely didn't roll at the thought), you'll spend the morning glowing and smiling and taking in all the details of your day.
Here are our biggest wedding morning tips:
Make sure you have a good idea of your timeline. Whether you wrote it yourself or it was written by a coordinator, make sure that to some degree you know who is supposed to be ready and by what time. You don't need to memorize it! Just make sure you have it on hand (printed out in case service is an issue at your venue), so that all parties are aware.
When hiring your glam squad, be sure that they ask for your timeline and create a schedule of their own. At Storybook Salon, one of our biggest green flags is our wedding day outline. We take the timeline that your coordinator created and work within it to schedule actual appointment times for each of your bridal party members receiving services. They will get notifications of their appointment time and you will get a full schedule (so will your appointed member such as MOH or mother). This way, everyone knows what time they are to be completely ready and in our chairs -- no stress of having to chase down party members or "who wants to go first?" -- just an easygoing, pre-planned day.
Communicate thoroughly with your bridal party about what they need to do with their hair/skin prior to their appointment time. For example, everyone getting their hair done needs to have clean, dry, product-free hair unless otherwise specified by the stylist. This level of preparation will save you loads of uh-ohs on the day of.
Prep your self as much as possible prior to wedding day! Your nails, toes, lashes, brows, hair maintenance, facial, and spray tan should all be done by two days before the wedding. The spray tan specifically should be done on that exact day (two days before the wedding), but all other appointments should be done within the two weeks before. If you get laser treatments, injectables, teeth whitening services, and more, make sure to speak with your technician about when these services should be complete.
On the morning of your wedding, wake up and take a deep breath! If you've done all of the above, you get to relax and take in all of your glorious wedding morning. We can't wait to service you!
