Why We Use Invisible Bead Extensions Paired with Chapter I Signature Extensions by Storybook

At Storybook Salon, we are obsessed with the fact that so many people wear extensions now. It is truly our very favorite service to provide. It provides not only instant gratification, but also long-term confidence.

Don't get us wrong, we love a good blonde transformation, or the way a brunette's eyes light up when she sees her dimensional warm, rich balayage for the first time. But the difference is simple: we are able to physically add hair that wasn't there before...and that is something that completely changes the way someone feels about themselves.

From adding just a row for fullness or help styling, to adding 24 inches of irresistible length and density, there is nothing we love more than seeing our clients light up after an extension installation.

Our owner, Sam, started doing extension services in 2019. She got certified in tape-ins, i-tips, and k-tips, followed by sew-in wefts (most notably, machine-tied and hand-tied). She quickly realized that sew-in wefts were her passion, providing density, length, and utter confidence, while being able to totally hide the extensions, care for them as if they're your own hair, and without having to worry about losing a whole extension at the dinner table (goodbye, individuals!)

But, there was always a problem. They either weren't flat enough to fully conceal, didn't seem safe for the scalp, placed uneven weight distribution, or created tension. As a registered nurse and wellness-based hairstylist, Sam knew there had to be something else out there.

The Method:

That's when she found Invisible Bead Extensions: a scalp-safe, meticulous, prestigious way of installing extensions, providing even weight distribution and zero tension, while allowing maximum density, length, and flexibility. In 2021, Sam registered to become an Invisible Bead Extensions certified stylist, not knowing this would be a huge turning point in her career.

Within less than a year, she had all of her extension clients transferred from their previous methods over to IBE, and they've never looked back. Why? Because you literally don't know they're there. No discomfort. No tension. No scalp-pulling. No "oh my gosh, is my weft showing" moments. Just comfortable, flexible (hello, high ponytails!), stunning extensions.

With every new install, Sam would get that pit in her stomach that said "Oh gosh, am I going to get the text next week?"

That text would always say:

• The hair seems to be thinning really quickly on the ends

• I think this hair needs trimmed already

• This hair seems dry even though my natural hair isn't

• It's really itchy

• It won't hold styles

• It's so frizzy

• It doesn't match my texture

• The extensions are brassy now!

• I think I need another shadow root

So while her clients were loving the IBE method, the hair itself was never good enough. So Sam started her research yet again. She knew that she what she wanted for her guests and all guests of Storybook Salon (and any stylist who wants in!), was going to have to be created from the ground up.

The Hair:

Sam created: Chapter I Signature Extensions by Storybook: our very own hair extension line. This wasn't created by trying out one manufacturer in China, asking a couple questions, and getting one sample..this was created after nearly a year of intense research and hardwork. Because at the center of this idea was not dollar signs... it was quality. It was what our clients deserve.
